Over the past 6 months we at Ekota Academy have been working hard to create projects to expand and further develop our services and offer in youth and community work in the borough. Over the past 6 months we have built up a team of professional JNC qualified youth workers, mentors and advisors to help us reach out and support more young people in Barking and Dagenham.

We believe that working in partnership with other agencies and organisation in the borough we would be able to support more young people access youth service provisions, get help and advice on accessing education and training programmes and diverting young people from crime and anti social behaviour by getting them involved in more positive activities in the community.

If you are a youth work professional, youth and community organisation or funder then please get in touch with us as we have amazing plans for present and future to support our young people change their lives from negativity to positivity and help those with talent to nature their talent, innovation and creativity.

This project has been developed through the support of the Sports Lottery funding. We want to support Adults up to 21 years old and children and young people to get more active and healthy in the community by taking up sports and recreational activities we offer through the academy.

While taking part in the sports or recreational activity we will help and educate you to learn about key life skills information such as healthy eating & diet, understanding how to deal with your mental health and well being and dealing with isolation at home due to COVID 19 rules.
Self isolating at home, don’t worry you can still join in and watch our video and activities and practice at home watching the coaches in action.

We have developed a project due to COVID 19 support and funding to engage with young people and parents using outreach and detached model. Look out for our Coaches and volunteer in a street and estate near you.
